I tested the Redragon K685 Pro 104 Keys Wireless Gasket RGB Keyboard on a custom PC running Windows 10 and I’m impressed. Feels great to type with and responsive when gaming. Zero issues with connectivity and battery is holding well (after 12 hours of use). I love the switches and the sound this keyboard makes. I have zero complaints about this keyboard, however, some preferences: all plastic housing (I like some metal) and RGB does not shine through keycap lettering and on it’s brightest setting is a bit dim.
Notable features:
-3 connection modes: Bluetooth, 2.4GHZ adapter, wired.
-Supports Windows and Mac computers.
-Includes white keycaps & switches (to switch out the blue ones).
-Battery indicator by pressing Fn and menu key (numbers 1-0 backlight illuminates).
Overall, this is an awesome keyboard. Five out of five stars.
Mainly just my preference but I still love that it's wireless and has the number pad. Good RGB too
Redragon is a brand that I associate with being a good value for the price point and the K685 is no different. While the keyboard itself is all plastic, there is a bit of heft it, probably due in part to the massive battery. There are feet for 2 different height adjustments and they are surprisingly solid (again, given the price point).
The switches on the keyboard feel great, they have a satisfying thock that I like, with a bit of a soft feel when pressed. Switches are a preference thing, but these feel good to me. The look of the keyboard is also a preference thing. It doesn’t scream “gamer” and would fit into an office environment just fine. Again, the fairly quiet switches help with this. You can also change the blue keycaps to the provided white ones if you want to tone it down that much more.
The keycaps themselves are on the smooth side. They look like they are double shot PBT so they should last a while. Note that they are not shine through keycaps so the RGB is limited to the edges of the keycaps. The keycaps and switches are hot swappable and I tested some shine thru keycaps that really brought out the RGB capabilities of this keyboard.
Connection via bluetooth and dongle were easy and quick. There is a holder for the dongle on the back of the keyboard, which is always a nice touch.
A few minor gripes. First is that selector switch and num lock/caps lock indicators are hard to read, as the lettering is simply embossed on the keyboard without any coloring. I find myself having to tilt the keyboard at just the right angle to see the lettering. The other is the non-shine through keycaps. I think they missed the opportunity here to make this thing that much better.
Overall, an excellent value and a keyboard that I would not hesitate to recommend.
