I expected an open box item to be something that a customer bought, tried briefly, and returned because it was not what they expected. Apparently that was incorrect thinking. The keyboard arrived looking like it had been used daily on someone's desk for a year before being returned. It was utterly filthy. Dirt, dust crumbs, etc were all over, spots of sticky residue on the chassis and some keys, large amounts of hair under the space bar. I would think that if an item is to be sold as "Open Box" rather than "Used" that at least a cursory cleaning would be undertaken beforehand. I removed all of the keys and gave the keyboard a very thorough cleaning with alcohol and it is very presentable now.
I like the feel of the keys. It came with brown switches, as advertised, and it did come with a a package of replacement switches, 2 each of 4 different kinds so I can test other options out in the event I want to convert to something besides brown. The tool to pull the switches, however, was not in the package. The green LED is out under the 9 key on the 10-key pad. If used with the red lighting selection that I use there is no issue. If the colors are changed then the 9 stands out as it cannot match the other colors without the input of the green LED, and when green is selected the 9 is not lit at all. This may be the reason the keyboard was returned in the first place.
This is my first foray in many years into the world of mechanical keyboarding and overall I am happy with the product, especially for the discounted price. I am marking it down in the rating as I feel that the "Open Box" sales tactic was quite misleading, and because the small effort to clean and check over the product before reselling was clearly not undertaken.
