Purchased around 6 years ago, still going strong!
Left arm paralyzedfrom a motorcycle accident, got this paired with a footboard and play any game I would like!
✔️ Dedicated software for configuration....
✔️ Ergonomic and very attractive design...
✔️ Appropriate length USB connection cable and anti-tangle️
✔ Weights to be able to adjust the stability of the mouse
✔️ Good value for money
❗ ...may not fit those with very large hands!
As far as performance is concerned, the Redragon-signed product does its job worthily, offering a good user experience even during the most concussive game phases. I myself decided to use it during some games of different MMORPG/RPGs such as World of Warcraft or Diablo III and I must say that it did not disappoint my expectations, although not at the levels of gaming mice of more emblazoned brands. In any case, for its price range I must say that the level is definitely very good.
Absolutely well made packaging, with the mouse in view and small case where you go to insert the weights in the mouse. These weights are 8 of 2.4g and depending on one's preference can be used for better stability and accuracy.
I like a heavy mouse in any situation and that is why I use all of them.
The cable is excellent quality braided nylon, 2 meters long.
Once connected to the PC, operation is immediate and I am using it with Windows 11, without necessarily installing anything.
For 360° control of the mouse, you have to install the proprietary software found on the official Redragon website and it consumes very few resources.
Once installed you can change the lighting effects and the coloring of the mouse to your liking, select the various DPI presets where at most it goes up to 32000 (really exaggerated) and record various Marks. Finally, the most interesting feature is to be able to customize every button on the mouse, and let me remind you that there are as many as 32 buttons in total! You can even customize the scroll wheel.
I've rarely seen a mouse with 16 buttons to program! It's a bit heavy, but on a suitable carpet it glides along all by itself! Even though it's wired, the cable is long and sturdy. It's also brighter. Installation is simple and it's excellent for mmo or mmo rpg: no more key combinations, just 16 programs to get everything in one click!
My mouse came pre-filled with weights. The Chroma M990 (Redragon) comes with a number of metallic weights and a small case to hold them, but it was empty. The bottom of the mouse has an unlockable tray that already held them, and you can feel it. This is a weighty mouse (ha).
The DPI is quite high and the resolution seems good. Smooth mouse gestures and scrolling. The scroll bar has a soft roll.
There are four buttons on top center of the mouse (lighting scheme, dpi). There is one red button to the left of the left click. The mouse is designed for right handed folk.
The 16 side buttons are a tad overwhelming for me. This is my first attempt at using them. They come pre-wired for the 0-9 buttons and other numpad functions, like plus, minus, and equals. I'm assuming this top-of-the-keyboard stuff will help anybody that plays MMOs (Massively Multiplayer Role Playing Games).
The aluminum base is weighty and handles smoothly on my usual mouse pad.
The lighting, as you can see in the attached pictures, is bright and vivid.
I did not make use of the Redragon software suite, but the mouse is pleasantly usable without it out of the box. I've become less of a fan of third party software for hardware the more I review.
Given the price point and the functionality (including snazzy red fabric cable) I can easily recommend this for the price they are asking (sub fifty dollars at the time of this writing).
I'll report back here if anything shakes my faith in this mouse.
