GAMING MICE COMPARISON
I started a new job that provided me with a computer, however I was unable to install my (other gaming brand) software to control the keyboard I was previously using so I went on the search for a new keyboard. I had very specific requirements, it needed to be wireless, RGB (customizable), and mechanical. This keyboard checked every single box plus some! I love that there are multiple options for RGB presets, plus the ability to build a custom light cadence. The connectivity options are also superb! I love that you can use it while its charging and that automatically puts it as a wired keyboard. I also purchased the bundle to include the wireless mouse and they work seamlessly together. Connecting both to my PC was easy and quick both via bluetooth as well as wired. I have not tried the dongle yet as I am trying to not use it at all so I don't lose it, but I am sure that will work just as well. Overall, a GREAT investment. I will always look to Redragon first for any PC supplies.
This is my 3rd Redragon keyboard, K530 Pro, and now the K556 Pro. Amazing keyboards, the selling point for me was the feel and performance. This is an aluminum keyboard, it has a bit of weight to it which I am never going back to a plastic flimsy one ever. Redragon staff are awesome to deal with, I recommend them 100%. Affordable well-built keyboards and mice.
This product has a steel frame, excellent mechanical key switches, numerous interface options and exceeds my expectations. There a numerous configuration options to fully customize. All of the keyboard connection options work flawlessly with Windows 11 and respond quickly. This is a quality product and I highly recommend it.
Bottom-Line-Up-Front: Serious gaming keyboard with an awesome RGB light show!
This is a full-sized gaming keyboard with a numeric keypad and full row of function keys. It comes with a WiFi USB dongle, pack of extra red switches, a key and switch puller, and USB-C to USB-A cable for charging or connecting to your computer.
The build quality feels solid. You can see form the pics it's trimmed in metal with industrial-looking screw tops visible on the sides. The USB dongle is stowed underneath the keyboard where you'll also find two rear risers for adjusting the keyboard angle.
The keyboard comes with Cherry Red RGB switches long with a pack of 8 replacement switches. I'm not a big user of RGB keyboards, but I must admit, this is a keyboard you'd want on at night even when you're not gaming or coding. See the video for a sampling of the RGB patterns. I like the random and the wave. Not sure those are the official names, but that's what they look like to me.
The instructions are easy to follow. There's a switch on the back to select either Bluetooth, WiFi 2.4Ghz, or off, in which case you can use the cable to plug in the keyboard for charging or direct-connect usage.
This is a great keyboard with a solid feel. I see no reason not to award it Five Stars!
I"ve been using the Redragon K556 Pro nonstop for the past 2 weeks and am very happy with this keyboard. The keys click exactly as I expected and the keycaps feel good on my fingers. The RGB feature is nice but I really don't care about that. The base material is really solid and the integrated stands also are a solid design.
I've been using it wired and on bluetooth and have not had any issues.
I'm not a fan of the key cap font but that is more personal preference. I would also want the switches to have a stronger spring for a more click feeling, but I can swap out the switches if it comes to that. I grew up typing on the old school mechanical keyboards and have always favored lenovo laptop keyboards for their tactile feel, so this mechanical keyboard from Redragon is a nice welcome back into the fold.
Overall price is pretty good too compared to the more name branded competition. My wife uses a Keychron K2 that I've also used extensively and I would compare them both favorably.
