This is my first mechanical keyboard in my life and I am realy impressed how cool it is! I been always in love in transparent gameing accessories and in my luck redragon had something like this on offer. It shines beautifully, I really like the lighting modes. It is fully customizable! Replacing the keys with other set is very easy. This are definitely not my last purchase in this store!

This is a translucent keyboard - NOT a 100% transparent keyboard, which can have two effects - one negative and one positive:

1.) If you're looking for the acrylic/glass-like appearance of something like the CoolKiller CK98, you're not going to have it here. At least not in the same way. The keys are glossy on the outside, but a bit foggy on the inside.

2.) That being said, you're going to get a lot more glow from every LED on the board - so it's brighter and less 'blindingly direct', if you will.

The CK98 is a $200 keyboard all day. You may get lucky and find it for $150 some day. This is a $70 keyboard. The switches sound exactly the same while the keystrokes sound different. They're a bit deeper (sounding) on the CoolKiller, but the tiny bit of budget sound on the Irelia sounds a little lighter, a little brighter, and might actually take the cake. It's a great balance between heavy and light. So we'll start from here:

Sound: 9/10. I think Redragon wins here - not only over the CoolKiller, but in general. I was concerned with the sound of the spacebar before picking this up, based on video reviews, but honestly it sounds just right. This keyboard has serious THOCK and the spacebar only makes it more apparent. It does sound bigger, more hollow and louder than the rest of the keys in that is IS. I kinda like it. It's not at all overbearing, but you know it when you press SPACE, which is kind of the entire point of the spacebar from an audible perspective.

Appearance: This gets a 19.8/10 in appearance. Even if it might look less premium compared to its TRUE fully transparent counterparts, there's something to be admired in its design that I don't think anyone else has. Its less-than-perfect transparency actually works for it. The outside of the keys is glossy, so the whole board shines, while the inside of the keys has a bit of fog (I wouldn't say frost), which means they glow much more than their competitors. This is absolutely subjective and depends on user/viewer preference. I personally love it and may even prefer it (I'm torn). The only thing that fails here is the Spacebar LED. It's one LED in the middle of a relatively clear line. This light could have been easily and cheaply piped out. Still, an easy mod to make if you find it necessary.

What makes it stellar, despite the aforementioned, in the visual department is the "music mode" that's built into the free Windows software. Not every LED keyboard has this, though they should, and it was a surprise to see it here. Turning your keyboard into a rainbow spectrum analyzer while it listens to all internal sounds from your computer is something to always take a step back and watch. It will always be entertaining, especially if you're someone to sit in front of your monitors and jam out occasionally. I F***ing love this. Its spot-on timing/accuracy with every beat and tunability only puts the cherry on top.

Typing: 8/10 here. This can go up over time, I think. A few misses on the Enter, Backspace, Shift and Space keys (so, the larger keys). They also feel noticeably much mushier than your typical letter keys. I don't know what's going on with that, but even as I'm typing this, I'm realizing that it's improving. I just opened this thing a few hours ago. In the few typos that I've made in this and trying to use the Left Arrow key, I've noticed that it's a little more abrasive than the rest as well. This can even get better over time or worse. Luckily, and I'll note this at the end, you have 8 extra switches to work with.

Overall:
This thing is $70 max and you will probably get it cheaper, even through its manufacturer's website. It's gorgeous from every angle and gives you an opportunity to enjoy a transparent (TRANSLUCENT) keyboard for a DANG good price. Keystrokes sound great and are 99% accurate out of the box. The larger keys clearly need some breaking-in, but they're also 99.9% accurate and will eventually level out.

I almost forgot to mention - the 90% size is damn-near perfect. If you can get around having a numpad without an enter key to its immediate right, you're in for a treat. The size and format is basically brand-new. I have never seen it in another keyboard. Redragon is pioneering here, I think, and doing a very good job at that. It does feel weird using a numpad almost instinctually without that Enter key, though. The second you use it, you end your inputs with Enter, and you unwillingly press Delete. So a bit to be desired there.

In closing, this is the best keyboard I've ever had under $100 and it's WAY under $100. 9/10 all the livelong day. You get 8 spare, identical, fully-transparent switches if anything goes wrong (which can be a blessing or a warning). The font on the keys looks phenomenal - it is black, so very visible while backlit.

Huge recommendation if you're looking for a THOCKY-AF keyboard in general. Just be aware that this is not 100% transparent as advertised.

I needed an external keyboard for school and work purposes. I ordered the black transparent keyboard. I absolutely LOVE this keyboard!! The sounds are awesome! The backlit features are impressive as well! I will be ordering a secondary keyboard for my office!
